The Wife of the Chairman of Ado Local Government Council in Benue State, Mrs Christiana Oche, has commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her recent state visit.
She describing thenvisit as impactful and reflective of a strong commitment to national development and citizens’ welfare.
Mrs Oche, in a statement, expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady for what she described as her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), noting that the visit marked Senator Tinubu’s second official engagement in the state.
She said the visit, which drew a large turnout of residents and stakeholders, was both inspiring and reassuring, as it underscored the Federal Government’s resolve to address critical socio-economic challenges affecting the people.
According to her, the Renewed Hope Initiative, a flagship programme of the First Lady, has continued to make significant strides in key sectors such as education, agriculture, food security, economic empowerment, healthcare, skills acquisition, and social investment.
Mrs Oche observed that the initiative has become a veritable platform for transforming lives, particularly for women, youths and vulnerable groups, by creating opportunities for self-reliance and economic inclusion.
She also lauded the commissioning of the Community Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, describing the project as a major step towards digital inclusion and human capital development.
The ICT facility, established through a collaboration involving the Renewed Hope Initiative, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Benue State Government, is expected to provide access to digital skills and technological tools for residents, especially young people and women.
Describing the project as timely and strategic, Mrs Oche said it demonstrates the First Lady’s commitment to equipping Nigerians with the necessary skills to thrive in a technology-driven world.
She further commended Senator Tinubu for commissioning ten strategic roads within Makurdi metropolis, noting that the infrastructure projects would significantly ease transportation, boost economic activities, and improve the overall standard of living in the state.
The roads, which include the Ishaya Bakut Dual Carriageway—now renamed Senator Oluremi Tinubu Road—as well as Abu King Shuluwa Road, Three Spur Road, Dabo Plaza–Fashion Hub Road, Mama Mbateren Alia Street, Sir James Iorpuu Street, Tyagher Abua Street, and Jato-Aka Road, were described as critical to the state’s urban renewal efforts.
Mrs Oche noted that the First Lady’s commendation of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s developmental strides further validates the administration’s commitment to people-centred governance and sustainable development.
She added that the Renewed Hope Initiative aligns seamlessly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that both frameworks are geared towards promoting inclusive growth and empowering citizens to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
“The Renewed Hope Initiative is a shining example of commitment to humanitarian causes and the empowerment of talented Nigerians who are eager to maximise the opportunities it provides,” she said.
Mrs Oche reaffirmed her support for programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens, expressing optimism that sustained collaboration between federal, state, and local stakeholders would accelerate development across the country.
