The camp of Dr. Pius Ukeyima Akutah has dismissed as false and malicious a publication alleging his involvement in clandestine discussions regarding the Benue State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship.
In an official disclaimer issued by his Principal Private Adviser, Comrade Atir Solomon Faeren, alongside Comrade Asan Doosuun Samuel and 15 others, the report was described as a baseless fabrication lacking any form of verification or credibility.
The statement said the publication, circulated by an anonymous online platform, failed to observe the basic tenets of responsible journalism, particularly the need to seek clarification from the individual concerned or his office before going to press.
According to the signatories, “the report is entirely false, malicious, and unverified,” stressing that Dr. Akutah has no involvement whatsoever in any alleged talks relating to the PDP governorship in Benue State.
They further urged members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety, warning against the spread of misinformation capable of misleading unsuspecting readers and creating unnecessary political tension.
Reaffirming Dr. Akutah’s political stance, the statement emphasized that he remains a loyal and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with no affiliation or engagement with opposition political arrangements as alleged.
The advisers maintained that truth, professionalism, and responsible journalism must be upheld at all times, noting that political propaganda and falsehoods cannot override facts.
They also called on media practitioners to adhere strictly to ethical standards, including verification of information before publication, to safeguard public trust and the integrity of the profession.
The statement concluded by reiterating Dr. Akutah’s unwavering commitment to his party and his focus on contributing positively to political development within the framework of the APC.
