The Nigerian Air force has demanded a collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ Ondo state in fighting criminality to a logical level.
This was made on Friday at Ipetu Ijasa, Osun State, during a courtesy call done on the 209 quick rapid respond of the force by the members of the pen profession on a need to have mutual relationship in combating criminality in the southwest.
The assertion on need to have mutual relationship was made by the Commander of the respond which comprises Ondo and Osun States, Godwin Ezendu.
Ezendu , the Wing commander and the Ag Commander , 209 quick respond group , Godwin Ezendu, said he appreciated the visit and pledge that he is fully in support of the journalists to fight crime and all forms of it to reasonable end.
He said that the journalists are the one to help in propagating the good works of the military over the activities of the criminals to that are disturbing the society.
He highlighted the works of the the Nigerian Air force saying the force is having a secondary school at Ondo state along Igbara Oke.
He also said that some of their men are deployed currently to Igbaraoke axis of ondo state to protect the lives and property of the people of the area being a bother town to Ekiti and Osun States.
In his response, the Ondo state Chairman of the NUJ , Prince Leke Adegbite , thanked the Commander for his efforts and brilliant ideas he has injected into the operation of the squard which has drastically reduce the activities of the criminals ,mostly in the two states.
Meanwhile, Ezendu had earlier emphasized that more efforts have been put in place to revamp some moribund vehicles at the Akure Airport which has been given a quick attention in the number of operational vehicles.
On the issue of operation in Osun State, he said alot of changes have taken place in making it an economic hug in manufacturing aircraft in the state that the project is on going through the efforts of Air Marshal I.O Amoo.
Also Air Force efforts outfits has been established in Osogbo Osun State
He said further that, efforts are on top gear to maintain peace in the state with other security agencies to fight against criminalities.
Training was also done on the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps to also enhance effectiveness.
On how to tackle and reduce kidnapping in the Ondo north Senatorial district, out to him by the Ondo NUJ, the Commander said they will try and do their best since they are over stretched in their daily routings.
He said there must be collaboration efforts with the people mostly saying that modern technology is required to fight to a stand still despite the odds.
He said with the support of the journalists, Nigeria will be a better place to living.
