The Ondo State chapter of the people’s Democratic Party PDP has organized one day seminar for the media aides of aspirants in the political party in preparation for the forthcoming primary slated for 25th April, 2024.
The sensitisation lecture was organized by the leaders of the party in the state as a way to unite the aspirants and for the aides to see reasons for unity in defeating and taking power from the All Progressives Congress APC in the state.
The event took place at the Heritage Continental Hotel, Ijapo Estate Akure on Wednesday.
In his welcoming address, the publicity secretary of the party in the state, Comrade Kennedy Peretei said the purpose of the seminar was to sensitized the media aides on projecting the party in good light and that the interest should be foremost.
While addressing the aides on the same subject matter, the Chairman of the party in the state, Basorun Tola Alabere emphasized that the media aides should not and stop attacking one another on social media but rather, bring the aspirants together to fight a common course of winning the election for the party.
Alabere urged them to put their weight and energy together in fighting the APC and chase it out of power for PDP to take over.
According to him, he said APC has done so much bad to the people both in the state and in the country at large which requires competent hands like the aides in fighting them out in relinquishing power to the PDP.
He therefore admonished them (the aides) to be agents of unity, saying the party has been out of power too long which is not good for a viable and reliable party like the PDP
The former National Vice Chairman of the party in Southwest, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, Ph. D said the aides should see themselves as leaders too who will one day rule their states rather than being tools in the hands of an aspirant.
He said politics is not all about abuses but focus and vision for the people.
He concluded on. The fact that the aides should see themselves as one who wants the party to win in respective of who they work for.
