Araromi , a developing community in Oba Ile, in Akure North local government area of Ondo State has in recent time been facing Chieftancy tussle as a result of misplacement of priority traced to the Deji of Akure, HRH Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade over imposition of an Olu (head) in the community
In November 13, 2023, the Oloba of Oba Ile in Akure North local government area of the state is constitutionally bound under the Chieftancy acts of Ajama Panel set up by the state government to install an Olu in the community and base on this, Oloba installed Chief Bankole Abiodun Fatoyinbo as the Olu of Araromi
However, one Jenyo Omotayo , who laid claim to the fact that he is also entitled to the throne, instituted a court action against Oloba, that he should have been installed instead of Chief Bankole Abiodun Fatoyinbo.
After filling a case in the state high court, he went out of his way by going to the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade to install him as Olu of Araromi, forgotten that, the monarch has no constitutional right whatsoever to do so because, Araromi community belongs to Oba -ile not Akure since the community has no historical background with Akure.
Moreso, Mr Jenyo, who took Oloba to court praying that , Oloba should be ordered to install him and not Chief Bankole Abiodun Fatoyinbo, went to Deji of Akure, to install him.
The case Mr Jenyo Omotayo took to Court was still there when Deji of Akure, harkened to the plea of Mr Jenyo Omotayo and installed him as Olu of Araromi.
Furthermore, Mr Jenyo Omotayo did not stop at that, he went to Zone 17 police headquarters , using some selected officers to harass the dully installed Olu of Araromi and some members of the community.
It would be recalled that, the Ajama Commission has given Oloba of Oba Ile the presiding authority as gazette in the government white paper, to install lesser Chiefs under his jurisdiction not Deji of Akure, over -lapping his territory.
The matter was immediately reported to the Ministry of local government and Chieftancy affairs and a letter was issued to that effect that, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade should withdraw the process with immediate and allow the court to decide.
The Monarch (Deji of Akure) acted accordingly and withdrew the certificate issued to Mr Jenyo Omotayo without any further delay.
As it stands, Deji of Akure has withdrawn his action and dethroned the said Mr Jenyo Omotayo meaning that, he (Jenyo Omotayo) should henceforth stop parading himself as Olu of Araromi as long as the case is in court and as well, Deji of Akure, has also regretted his action by issuing a dethronement letter to Mr Jenyo Omotayo.
The leaders and the good people of the community are hereby appealing to government and other appropriate authorities to call Mr Jenyo Omotayo to order as he is still parading himself as Olu of Araromi despite his dethronement , using one officer Awogbami Kofoworola to threaten the people of the area.
