His Excellency, Agboola Alfred Ajayi has described the passing of late Senator Atijosan Emmanuel Onunkun as the end of a glorious political era where unique representation and responsibility was the order of the day.
Onunkun who passed on earlier in the week represented Ondo West Senetorial District of old Ondo State between 1979 and 1983.
In a condolence message personally signed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, Hon Agboola Ajayi deeply noted that Pa Onukun was a complete leader who devoted his life to the service of his family, community, State and nation, he remained through his life an epitome of modesty, discipline and service, never self seeking, but absolutely distinguished in all he did.
He thanked God for the gift of a unique man who was of essence all through his life with an unwavering commitment to the good of the nation, noting that his legacies and accomplishments shall serve as a tonic that will energize generations to come.
“All who knew him will certainly remain proud of his leadership and his lifestyle ‘ Ajayi stressed, adding that the memory of his brilliant leadership qualities will however, remain a source of inspiration and encouragement to all his friends and associates.
Ajayi said his thoughts are with the family of the departed Distinguished Senator and “on behalf of my family , the Agboola Ajayi Campaign Organisation and the global PDP family, I pray God give the family and well wishers the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
