
Ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, several members of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Ose Local Government , including a former Council Chairman, Agboola Ajike and current serving Youth leader of the APC , Northern Senatorial District, Obanla Oluwole and others set their brooms on fire, on Sunday and got inducted into the Peoples Democratic party ( PDP)
The mammoth sabbath afternoon crowd, which witnessed the induction ceremony, went into wild excitement, as the decamping APC members from in Ose Local Govt Area of the state ,dumped their brooms, being the symbol of their former party, and set them on fire, at the induction which took place in Ifon town got midway.
While the burning was going on, the shout of Agbo! Agbo! and PDP Power! rented the air as the event coordinators, had hectic time controlling the surging crowd.
Chairperson of the PDP in the LG, Alhaja Hamed Kofoworola had before then welcome guests to the event.
Among them, Bobby Omotosho, PDP Ondo North, Senatorial Chairman, Public Relations guru and Senatorial candidate in the 2023 general election, Tokunbo Modupe a.k.a TPT, High Chief Folake Sarumi a two time Commissioner, a former member of the House of Assembly and Regent, Princess Olupitan Asake, Olumide Sekoni,Bayode Arosoye and Reuben Akintunde.
The induction of the new members, which also included members of the Social Democratic and Labour parties, was performed by the Senatorial Chairman , Omotosho.
Welcoming the new members, PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi congratulated them for taking the decision to team up with the Ondo Rescue Mission of the PDP, to ensure the state is rescued from it’s present predicament.
The PDP candidate promised that under his watch, insecurity problem confronting them will be intelligently handled, as he announced Forest Guards members, a proposed arm of the Amotekun, will be drafted to their farms and roads to protect them.
Recall that APC members in their hundreds , earlier on Saturday , decamped to the PDP in Ikare Akoko. Among them was Queen Muina Momoh, wife of the traditional ruler of Ikare, his son, Prince Sina Momoh, 18 Prominent Chiefs and 5 influential women leaders.
Also at the weekend ,a former Auditor of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Group, Ijanusi Olawale Optimum, in company with Saka, an APC councillor, the Igbo and Ebira Communities and SDP LG Chairman, declared for the PDP in Ikun Akoko.
