ONDO GUBER : EX STUDENTS UNION LEADER, JOHN AKINMURELE EMERGES YPP CANDIDATE

All party members including the delegates of the Young people’s party YPP trooped out in their large numbers on Saturday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to elect the flag bearer of the party, who will comb home victory in the coming governorship election in the state by November 16th, 2024.

At the epoch making event, the delegates collectively and unanimously voted for Comrade John Otitoju Akinmurele as the party candidate who will slog it out with other parties flag bearers in the coming election.

However, five delegates each from the eighteen local governments areas of the state voted, in accordance with the principle of the party

According to the returning officer, Williams Moses said, 90 delegates were accredited for the election, but only 89, surfaced and voted, where Comrade Akinmurele was declared winner as the sole aspirant of the party.

In his acceptance speech, the winner of the primary election, Comrade John Akinmurele, the former Students Union( SUG) President of Adekunle Ajasiin University, Akungba Akoko said time has come for the youths to take over the governance in assisting the generation from what it is today.

” time has come for us, the youths to take back our generation from what we are experiencing today “

” I want to tell you to stand and take the bull straight by the horns, the state is ours, the state is blessed in all ramifications with both human and natural resources, it must not be left in the hands of the bad elements of the society who call themselves politicians ” Akinmurele said

While addressing the journalists and the party members after the exercise, the party chairman, Hon Dotun Ojon appreciated all party faithfuls for their doggedness and steadfastness so far.

He said the party is on a mission to success and that the intention is to give a good platform to anyone who wishes to contest and liberate the people of the state

” I will not hesitate to appreciate you all for your unrelenting efforts most especially the party members”

” we are focused and determined in this party to encourage anyone who has the will and the capacity to lead well and liberate the people ” Ojon said

The exercise was well coordinated and attended by the staff of the Independent National Electoral commission INEC and other observers from far and near.
