An Ondo High Court sitting in Akure, the state capital has on Monday 6th May 2024 , dismissed a case brought before it over who becomes the Olu of Araromi in Akure North local government area of THREE state.

the case which was in court over who becomes the authentic community head of the area between Mr Omotayo Jenyo Lawrence and Chief Bankole Abiodun.

In a case suit No Ak/401/2023 between

Mr Jenyo Omotayo Lawrence —Claimants

Elder Oluwole Oginni

Prince Yemi Omodara

AND

Chief Bankole Abiodun —Defendants

Chief Tunde Afere (Sao of Oba Ile)

Oba Joseph Oluwadare Agunbiade

Hon Commissioner, Ministry of local government and chieftancy Affairs

Ondo State government

Attorney General, Commissioner for Justice, ondo state———Defendants

In an enrolment of order before His Lordship, Hon Justice B. F. Adeyeye ,judge on the 6th May, 2024 in the presence of O. M Adejor Esq, for the claimant and O. D Olawale, for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants.

However, after the court had listened to O.D Olawale, for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendant ,made oral application for

A) An order discharging the order of interlocutory injunction earlier granted in the case

B) An order dismissing this case because issues have been joined in the suit

The court therefore ordered as follows

Based on the fact that the pleading in the suit have been exchanged, that in view of the eye of the court, that it will be unjust for the claimant ,after having knowledge of the case for the defendant having opportunity to have a second bite as it were of the cherry ,the Judge , Hon Justice B F Adeyeye therefore made an order to dismiss the case rather than striking it out

It would be recalled that Mr Jenyo Omotayo Lawrence was in logger head with Chief Bankole Abiodun, that he (Mr Jenyo Omotayo Lawrence) should have been installed as Olu of Araromi, thereby took the case to court praying the court ordering Oloba of Oba Ile, Oba Joseph Okuwadare Agunbiade to install him and as well rushed to Deji of Akure, Oba Dr Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade for the installation which Ajama committee of the state government had ruled and submitted that, only Oloba Of Oba can install Olu of Araromi, since the community has ancestral history with Oba Ile and not Akure under Deji.

However, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade had issue a dethronement letter on Mr Jenyo Omotayo Lawrence withdrawing the initial title bestowed on him and as well withdrew all traditional rites done for him.
