The state leaders of Social Democratic Party (SDP) yesterday (Sunday) completed their 3days tour to the three Senatorial of the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Ondo State where they met with all the 18 Local Government Chairmen and Secretaries as well as all the 203 Ward Chairmen and party leaders across the local government areas of the state.
The first point of call was the Northern Senatorial District where the leaders were received with so much enthusiasm and funfair.
The Local Government Chairmen in the Senatorial zone told the leadership of the party, which included the State Chairman, the State Secretary and other executive members the preparation of the party towards the November 16th election and their needs as they resolved to forge ahead in their house to house, unit to unit mobilisation with a clear mandate of wining the hearts of all the people in their streets, towns and their respective local government areas.
At the meeting, the leaders of the party were happy about the dedication of the people and their loyalty to SDP and urged them to continue the good works they have started and ensure that SDP is victorious in the forthcoming Governorship election in the state.
One of the success of the meeting was when hundreds of members from other political parties decamped to SDP and pledged their supports and loyalty to the party.
The following day after the Northern Central meeting, the leadership train of the party moved to the Southern Senatorial District where the gubernatorial candidate of SDP hails from. It was indeed a very wonderful meeting in the zone as the Local Government and Ward leaders gave their unflinching supports to the party and promised to work harder to ensure that SDP wins the governorship election come November 16.
Also at the end of the meeting of the Southern Senatorial meeting, which was like home coming, over 2000 decampees from APC, PDP and LP joined the party and pledged to work for the victory of Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.
The final point of call for the State Leaders of the party was the Central Senatorial District where all the party chairmen and secretaries of the Local Government and Wards gathered at the state party secretariat for the meeting, which was rounded up on Sunday.
The meeting gave them opportunities to inform the leaders how far they have gone in their respective Local Government Areas and Wards and what they planned to do to ensure the party is victorious in the election. They urged the leaders to make motorbikes available to enable them double their mobilisation efforts.
At the end of the successful meeting, the state leaders of the party commended them for their dedication and supports for the party and assured them that mobility will be provided in no short distance time. They further urged them to double their efforts to deliver their respective local government and wards for Social Democratic Party come November 16, 2024.
Addressing the press after rounding up the meeting of three Senatorial Districts in the State, the State Secretary of the party, Hon Jimmy Akinyan said, “SDP is now fully prepared and ready to take over the affairs of the state come November 16. Our candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye is ready to change the narrative. We only appeal to the electorates to vote SDP as the only alternative party in Ondo State.”
