As the March, 2027 Senatorial Election approaches, the highly resourceful special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on health matters, Prof. Simidele Michael Odimayo, (fondly referred to as PSO, by his political associates) held a rousing consultation engagement with APC leaders and members in Ilaje Local Government. The meeting drew the attendance of critical stakeholders, leaders and members.
At the engagement, leaders and members excitedly welcomed Prof. Odimayo, spoke highly; extolling his character and leadership quality. They described P[rof. Odimayo as a new breed of leadership, whose emergence would bring about a paradigm shift in the socio-political space of Ondo South Senatorial district.
The leaders applauded Prof. Odimayo for his cooperation and loyalty to Governor Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa. They described his service as a display of exemplary expertise in the health sector, a core mandate area of the ‘Ease Agenda’ which has brought unprecedented improvement and relief to the people.
In his address, Prof. Odimayo thanked leaders and members of the APC in Ilaje Local Government for their solidarity and overwhelming show of love. He stated that he is a son of the soil, considering that Ilaje Local Government is his mother’s ancestral home. Prof. Odimayo explained that the purpose of his visit was to consult and seek the support of leaders and members of the APC, as a people of common destiny, on the imminent senatorial election slated for March, 2027.
He stated that, having regards to his experience both in private and public service, and considering the staring socio-economic problems of the southern senatorial district, they require a knowledgeable person, with acceptable character to attract and maintain the needed synergy with the Federal Government, International bodies and Donors to foster development. He praised efforts of the state government in various critical sectors, which undoubtedly requires synergy with the various agencies, both national and international.
He emphasized that the needed opportunity to open up the southern area for development is now that the Government of the ‘EASE’ is in place. He told them, ‘as it was in the time of Isaiah, I have heard the voices of our people, I have seeing and felt our socio-economic inadequacies, send me to the senate as your senator in the forth-coming national assembly election.
I promise I will bring the needed change.’
Responding, APC Chairman in Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Raphael, extolled Prof. Odimayo’s virtue as a man of unassuming character, gentle, simple and hardworking. He stated that though the APC is replete with competent members, foremost amongst them, is Prof. Odimayo. He welcomed the consultation team, stating that the Governor believes that with the right opportunity and competent people in elective positions, Ondo South would rise to its enviable status.
In his closing remarks, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Maurice Oripenaye stated that leaders and members of the APC are resolute for good leadership and that Prof. Odimayo has displayed this in his working relationship with Mr Governor.
