AKURE ANGLICAN DIOCESE SCANDAL; Bulletin No 1.
The embattled Bishop of Akure Anglican Diocese, Most Revd S O Borokini has embarked on a divide and rule mission to ensure that the allegations leveled against him are swept under the carpet.
To this end, he has taken the following steps within the last 48 hrs.
- He has called a meeting of the Diocesan standing Committee for Saturday, 4th April, 2026.
- He has in the last 48 hrs since the scandal blew open, visited some of church leaders who signed the petition to plead with them to withdraw their signatures.
- His intention for the emergency meeting with the Diocesan Standing Committee is to ask the Committee to issue a rejoinder defending him against the allegations leveled against him.
- We wish to inform all concerned that we already have an idea of what he intends to do with the meeting of tomorrow.
- The question we should ask Borokini is whether it is right or not for him to first answer the questions raised and defend the allegations against him and his wife.
- Let the general public and all concerned be aware that we already know that he will force the Standing Committee to issue a rejoinder and defend him.
- We ask that an independent enquiry be set up by the Primate of All Nigeria to find out if the allegations against Borokini are true or not
- We are waiting to see the rejoinder they will.release tomorrow. We will then be ready to release more information about this man and his wife, and the damage they have done to our Diocese.
- We urge members of the Diocesan Standing Committee in the Diocese of Akure to be wary and be careful of the antics of Borokini and his wife so that they do not injure their reputation built over the years, even if a lot of the members of the Standing Committee are members of the clergy .
