Ayodeji Oluleye (Ògo Àkúré), Convener of the Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group, has expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of insecurity, particularly kidnappings and killings, in parts of Akure North, including Igbatoro, Imafon, and adjoining communities.

This concern is heightened by recent disturbing incidents of kidnapping and killings reported in communities within the Igunsin–Sajowa axis of Igbatoro, which have created fear and anxiety among residents and surrounding communities.

Oluleye expressed heartfelt sympathy to families and loved ones who have lost relatives or suffered trauma as a result of these unfortunate developments. He described the situation as painful and deeply troubling, especially in communities known for their long-standing history of peace, unity, and agrarian productivity.

“These communities are not only our homes but also critical food baskets and economic hubs of Ondo State. It is worrisome to see them confronted with such security challenges,” he noted.

While acknowledging the deliberate efforts of the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in addressing insecurity—particularly through the recruitment of additional Amotekun Corps personnel and the provision of operational vehicles for security agencies—Oluleye commended these proactive steps toward safeguarding lives and property.

He also appreciated the continued efforts of security agencies, including the Police, Amotekun Corps, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for their commitment to maintaining peace and order.

Oluleye further called on residents to support security efforts by remaining vigilant and providing timely and credible information that will aid in tackling criminal activities and restoring lasting peace across affected communities.

He emphasized the need for a holistic, community-based approach that integrates government action, local participation, and proactive engagement as a sustainable pathway to restoring safety and confidence in affected communities.

Oluleye reassured the people of his continued commitment to the safety, development, and well-being of all communities across Akure North and South.
