Stakeholders across boards converged in their large numbers at the Sunview Hotel Akure to discuss and as well enlightened people on how best to turn waste to wealth.
In a one day sensitization workshop organized by Climate Actors For Innovations and Sustainability in Conjunction with Ondo State Waste Management Authority, explained the positive imparts the workshop tends to benefit the youths in the area of job creation if put into use.
The workshop which was sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme( UNDP GET SGP)
Environmental Safety , Municipal Sanitation and robust Management systems serve as critical Cornerstones for public health, regional economy stability and ecological preservation in ondo state was the vocal point.
Speaking on the dialogue, Mrs Ibironke Olubamise emphasized that our waste should be well utilized for the betterment of the society

Sustainable waste disposal & plastic alternatives among residents and school students in upcycling and recycling techniques will go along way helping the society
Akintunde Akinmolayan, the Team Coordinator , said the legal frame work on Policy dialogue on Waste Management Authority law which is another basis that will help effectively in actualization of the dream of turning the waste to wealth
“The rationale behind the one day workshop was to bring back the already established law of the state and how to make it more effective”
” the authority shall exercise regulatory oversight, enforcement and coordination functions for all waste management activities within the state” he said
Earlier , a representative from the waste management authority in ondo state, Mr Tunde also contributed that the importance of turning waste to wealth can not be over emphasized and mentioned the adverse effects of not keeping the environment clean
Participants from different spheres also contributed one way or the other on ways to maximize the waste to wealth
