The Speaker of the state Assembly, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji has been alleged of gross misconducts by the Honourable members ranging from Mis-trust and misappropriation of funds among others.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji , also alleged to have altered some documents that were not collectively agreed or signed by the Honourable members which triggered their angers over such acts.
However, according to the in-house source said the Economy and Financial Crime Commission EFCC is already aware of the whole financial scenario going on in the Assembly.
Disgracefully , the State House of Assembly complex was thrown into chaos on Thursday following the invasion of some suspected thugs over the impeachment saga against the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji for what they(Honourable Members) termed ” Oladiji must go”
The alleged invaders, who in their hundreds suddenly stormed the legislative premises of the Assembly, appeared to combed the hallways, moving from office to office in what witnesses described as a terrifying display of force designed to intimidate lawmakers and administrative staff.
According to sources, the suspected thugs were said to have mobilized, sponsored and ordered to forestall the purported removal of the Speaker, who has been facing an impeachment battle in the Assembly for quite a while
For close to hours, the invaders held the premises hostage disrupting the day’s legislative schedule and instilling palpable fear among workers, many of whom barricaded themselves inside their offices to avoid confrontation according to an inside source.
“It took the combined efforts of Hon. Oguntodu, some members of the House, and the security agencies to ensure the hoodlums were displaced from the premises.”
Recall that over 22 of the 26 members of the Assembly had signed an impeachment notice calling for the Speaker’s immediate resignation or face total impeachment
The impeachment move stemmed from allegations of financial impropriety and over alleged diversion of N44 million from the budget of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).
With all these drama at the state assembly, the governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has since been talking with some of the Assembly members to drop the impeachment move but all efforts proving abortive.
It was gathered that the Honourable members have been severally invited to the government House, Alagbaka by the governor to see what could be done to safe the speaker from the disgrace of impeachment but which they are all head-bent.
Some of the Assembly members who spoke with GermaneReporters (GR) said they continue telling the governor to hands-off from the process but which he (the governor) is trying to pacify them and look away like nothing happened to #44,000,000 he was alleged to have been diverted by the speaker
The question many are asking the governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is that, why is he supporting the act of the Speaker?
Why has he (the governor) not have allowed the House to set up an independent probe panel to carry out findings ?
These and many other questions were raised by the people of the state.
Consequently, it was also alleged that , the House members who are head bent in removing the speaker, are those who were short- changed by the governor during the last APC House of Assembly primaries, that are now ready to remove the “governor’s boy” from the seat discovering his (Speaker) attrocities.
It would be recalled that the party, APC in the state are of factions which some are of “Apollo”and some are of “Paul”
Now, the general question is that, WILL RT HON OLAMIDE OLADIJI SURVIVE THE IMPEACHMENT ?
