The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has assured parents, students and residents of adequate security across the state ahead of the resumption of schools.
Adeleye said the agency had concluded all necessary security arrangements to ensure a safe learning environment, particularly in border communities and other vulnerable areas across the state.
He noted that Amotekun was aware of the prevailing security threats in parts of the country but stressed that proactive measures had already been put in place to prevent criminals from targeting schoolchildren in Ondo State.
According to him, the Ondo State Government has directed that adequate security personnel be deployed to schools across the state, especially those located in border areas and isolated communities.
He urged school principals and administrators to familiarise themselves with Amotekun’s emergency distress lines 0807 99999 89. 3 to enable our rapid response team in the event of any security incident.
Adeleye also disclosed that buses conveying students would receive security transporting pupils in vulnerable locations.
