The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has received four suspects arrested in connection with the alleged illegal dealing in refined petroleum products in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspects, identified as Kehinde Akinjinrin, Abiwo Ola, James Etajuwa, and Shadrach Omoshola, were arrested at the Igbokoda seaside during an anti-crude oil theft operation conducted by the Nigerian Navy between 3rd and 4th September 2026.

The suspects were reportedly found in possession of suspected illegally refined petroleum products, as well as petroleum products suspected to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) being conveyed without the requisite authorisation.

The suspects and exhibits were formally handed over to the NSCDC Ondo State Command at the Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda, on 10th September 2026. Receiving the suspects and exhibits on behalf of the Command, the Public Relations Officer, SC Daniel Aidamenbor, commended the Nigerian Navy for the successful operation and the continued operational synergy between both agencies.

He noted that such collaboration remains critical to protecting the nation’s economic assets and preventing the activities of vandals and economic saboteurs whose actions undermine the nation’s economy.

According to him, “As the agency statutorily empowered to investigate and prosecute matters of this nature, the Command will ensure that the case is thoroughly investigated and that justice is served in accordance with the law This will also serve as a deterrent to other criminal elements who may seek to engage in similar activities.”

The NSCDC Ondo State Command reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with sister security agencies in the fight against crude oil theft, illegal refining, pipeline vandalism, and other forms of economic sabotage across the State.
