On Thursday 4th April, 2024, the Director General of Olusola Oke Campaign Council, Chief Bailey Arohunmolase, on behalf of Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, visited the leadership of the Hausa Community, Shasha, Akure, as part of the engagements with select APC leaders and members.
On hand to receive the team were Alhaji Shehu Abdulahi, the Seriki, Alhaji Muhammadu Nalakoro, Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Jubril, secretary, Alhaji Jubril Dege, and Engr. Usmaila Gambo, Olusola Oke Campaign Coordinator in Shasha. Others were executive members of the Youths.
Welcoming the Oke team, Alhaji Aminu Jubril told the gathering that the relationship of Shasha Community with Oke is a longstanding one, particularly as Oke was instrumental to the survival of the dreams of the founding fathers of the community.
Addressing the select leaders, Oke, who was represented by Chief Bailey Arohunmolase, assured the Hausa Community in Shasha of the high regard he has for them. He went on to promise them the continuous support of Oke, when eventually elected as governor of Ondo State.
“Oke is part of you. He will do more than what you benefited in the past, when you interfaced under a past government in the State. He is a man of his words, and will keep his promises”.
Responding, the Seriki spoke gloriously about Oke, as he declared that Shasha Community in Akure belongs to him.
“When we were under fire, he personally visited us, and helped us in very tremendous ways”.
“I will not say more than that. We don’t lie in our religion. What we say is what we will do. If Oke is in government, we will know our friend is in government”.
Apart from the commercial activities Shasha Community is noted for, about 4, 650 residents are said to be living there.
