The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ondo State Chapter, and Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon. Dr. Fasua Gbenga Timothy, has expressed deep sadness and heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Ilaje Local Government Area over the reported aircraft crash in Igbokoda.
Hon. Fasua described the incident as a deeply painful and distressing development, noting that the unfortunate occurrence has cast a shadow of grief over Ilaje and the entire Ondo State.
He extended his heartfelt sympathy to the families of those affected, praying that God Almighty will grant them the strength, courage and comfort needed to bear the difficult moment.
The ALGON Chairman also commiserated with the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, over the tragic incident, acknowledging the emotional weight of the development on the state and its people.
Hon. Fasua commended the security agencies, emergency responders, medical personnel and other relevant authorities for their prompt intervention and ongoing efforts toward rescue, recovery and the management of the situation.
He urged the people of Ilaje to remain calm, united and prayerful while awaiting further official information from the appropriate authorities.
While describing the incident as a painful reminder of the fragility of life, Hon. Fasua prayed for the repose of the souls of those who may have lost their lives and asked God to grant the affected families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He further prayed for divine guidance, protection and strength for all personnel involved in the ongoing rescue and recovery operations.
